Grounding Mats

Dry air means static electricity, which can damage sensitive gear. Touching a grounded mat first safely discharges you before you touch your equipment.

The Problem

Dry air causes static electricity to build up. Touching your equipment without discharging first can damage sensitive components.

The Solution

Touching a grounded AVRS mat first safely equalizes the charge, protecting your gear before you ever touch it.

Why You Need a Grounding Mat

Static Builds Up Fast

A sudden discharge can be anywhere from a few hundred to tens of thousands of volts.

Some Components Are Extremely Sensitive

Some computer components are sensitive to just 10 volts. You typically won't feel a shock unless it's greater than 3,000 volts, and you can hear the arc above 5,000 volts.

Don't Assume You're Protected

Though electronic equipment should have internal protection, it is never good to assume that it does, that it is optimally grounded, or that the protection is not yet near the end of its life.

Directions:

1.   Remove the protective film from the bottom of the pad

2.   Plug the mat into a confirmed properly grounded receptacle

3.   Simply touch your AVRS Grounding Mat before touching your

equipment.

4.   The mat can be trimmed to fit with scissors if needed.

Description:

4”x6” mat with 12’ cord and three-prong U.S. plug, 6 oz. Made in USA.

Simply touching the grounded mat will dissipate any electro-static charge build-up to equalize the potential to ground.
